what people say about nurture
I go to the Pilates exercise class run by Gaynor Hathway and have frequently had a coffee in the centre. Afterwards I often stroll around the town and pop into the market. It seems like there are so few places if any that care for both your physical and emotional health and well-being like this centre does in the vicinity. It would be a great loss to the town
My Pilates class I attend is very important to me our well-being especially after the last 2 years is very important. Losing the facilities at the Nuture Centre would be a tremendous loss to me personally and the whole community .We need more facilities not less. The diversity of activities are enormous and they need to continue I really hope the lease can be renewed.
I provide Pilates classes 3 times a week for around 30 people in total. Most of my customers are over 60 years of age and keen to remain active. I moved my classes to the Nurture Centre when Carmarthen Community Centre stopped permitting hirings as it is now an Education Centre. If Carmarthen CC close the Nurture Centre I will have nowhere to teach Pilates and all my ladies will loose a valuable exercise session which is contrary to public health advice.
It provides a great access to town, can go there for an event and do shopping or get food in town. The events it runs are great for wellbeing. It provides a safe and relaxing place.
I'm employed in a coffee shop in Carmarthen town centre. We have lots of regular customers whom attend activities in the Nurture Centre, then come in for coffee and tea. Also people whom provide services in the nurture centre come to our shop. They all shop in Carmarthen town as they are there.I use the centre of an evening after work. These classes certainly help with my well being and self care. The Nurture Centre is the future of individuals whom care about themselves others and our environment. The centre supports the local economy and promotes events. It's such a lovely space. Long it may continue and grow. It will be such a loss to the town and surrounding communities
Since being in Remission for Cancer I have been going to the Thi Chi there I get to socialise only once a week and Lis the teacher is fab please let them stay thank you
The Nurture Centre and its restaurant is essential to my wellbeing and mental health and also my friends who would be very lost without it. I have recently been to counselling sessions there, in addition to two weekly Tai Chi sessions. Its an ideal location for the shops and restaurants in the vicinity, e.g. M & S, Days etc Especially as there is a car park close to it.
Here is a local enterprise- it is supporting small individual businesses, entrepreneurs; it is providing a meeting place for local people and thereby supporting local peoples emotional wellbeing; it is supporting the local food economy by using local produce in the cafe; it draws people in to Carmarthen to access its services- 0f course there is a positive effect on surrounding businesses, certainly more than if it were ANOTHER empty building in Carmarthen again. WHY is there ANY question over extending the lease on any viable business in Carmarthen which is providing such diverse benefits for the local community?
The nurture Centre has done exactly that, nurture me. From my first pregnancy in 2018/2019 when I had my pre natal classes there then we would go for lunch in town with our new friends we had met there. Friends that are now my best friends and our nearly 3 year old are growing up together and choosing the same schools and nursery's we've made life long bonds for them all because of the community in nurture centre. Then the pandemic hit and so my mental health declined and when I was failed by the NHS with long waiting lists and nowhere else to turn the nurture centre showed up and were offering free mental health counselling courses which I took and helped me massively all online. Then when I fell pregnant in a pandemic and couldn't see midwives who was there for me again - yep, the nurture centre! With their free online mothers meets, and birth courses - I had a free (usually £250!) Hypnobirthing class this gave me the confidence to have a home birth helping everyone including the maternity services at such a time when people were not wanted in hospitals. The nurture centre have again started classes now that bring me into town they have a masseuse there I use and will go into town to do my shopping (it would have been online otherwise) now baby groups have started so we take the kids and go into town for lunch again after. There are soo many reasons to go to the nurture centre now and every-time I decide I can then go into town to get things instead of using online. If the nurture centre ceases to exist I will most certainly not be coming to town otherwise it will all be online shopping. Not allowing the nurture centre a forever lease is an injustice to mothers of Wales and if I'm honest then even having to petition or fight for their space in this town is shocking. I don't see one other place offering such help and support in Carmarthen you should be shouting about them from the rooftops and working with them to offer the help they give to all
Y
ou should be proud of these women and their work! I would be giving them grants and access to help to keep them going until the end of time.
Nurture Centre is unlike anywhere else in town; as an autistic wheelchair user who is often crippled by anxiety, visiting any local shops would be impossible without somewhere "safe" to take a break at in between shops. Nurture is that safe place; child-safe, breastfeeding friendly and a non judgemental atmosphere paired with the fact its a more accessible environment than most in town make it pretty essential to our visits into town.
I currently work in Carmarthen town and have listened to a lot of customers opinions on Carmarthen. Every customer I have spoken to has said how sad they are so many stores have closed and how little there is to do. It's a depressing conversation to have and I wish it wasn't the case. We have a lot of customers come in from the nurture centre and I get to hear about their days, they express how much they love it there and I was hoping for my wellbeing that I could start back there too myself. Being a mother to a 3 year old and currently pregnant, the nurture centre is the only place I have considered for the help and support I need for my emotional and physical state. The town is already quite depressing from the pandemic and the pressures in work have increased. Bills are increasing it's hard to stay positive sometimes. I've always taken comfort from knowing the nurture centre is there and available for me and I believe it's the only support in Carmarthen I'd consider for myself. It's amazing how little emotional support is available. By closing the nurture centre would definitely have an impact in the store I work in. It's an opportunity for people to get together who haven't been able to for so long and then I get to see them and hear their wonderful stories of their day in Carmarthen which makes me appreciate my day more in work. Why is closing more stores even an option for Carmarthen town? You need all you can get!
It's an inviting place that offers something important to Carmarthen's town centre.
It's a hugely important space to help me with my gender dysphoria. Please extend their lease its not just about money it's about mental wellness and the potential cost if it's not there!!!
The importance of a "safe space" for the people of the town and the surrounding area cannot be understated and I believe that Nurture provides that.
The Nurture has been a strong part and reason for going to Carmarthen town for me.
The Nurture Centre provides an important lifeline for LGBTQ groups to meet, bringing people in from rural areas that otherwise have no connections. It’s the only reason I come to Carmarthen. Without it, I doubt that I would visit at all.
Please let Nurture stay!
The nurture centre offers an accepting, safe LGBTQ friendly space in Carmarthen.
This place has been a little gem for me as a new breastfeeding Mum. Life got busy with a newborn and it's always wonderful to know other mums are in the same boat! It might not seem much, but my trips to the town usually start and end with a little Nurture. It's super convenient that I have a place I can park, I can fuel up with tasty food (and breastfeed) and use their wonderful facilities. A quick walk straight into town where I can purchase anything I need. On the way back I can feel relaxed knowing I can pop back in to breastfeed surrounded by this cosy and loving place. Tesco or Lidl feeding room/toilet just doesn't give you that same feeling !!!
I run my Well-being days in their hall which helps many women. This is a community space that allows so many people to come together and share experiences in an ever changing, hard world. It would be a tragedy to lose it.
I enjoy the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere of Nurture, the food is wholesome and delicious and staff are so accommodating. Nature is an oasis of calm in the beautiful town, it is unique and an asset to the area.
Nurture has been so supportive of my breastfeeding journey and I've met new friends. It was really refreshing going there and meeting with others in the same situation.
Nurture centre is in a perfect location that is central to all. Its accessible for all ages and disabilities. It won't be the same if it was to be relocated. I understand that there are cutbacks but surely there are other buildings that you could sell off? Empty buildings or buildings that won't have any impact if they were sold or had a change of us use. Going to Nurture is the highlight for the week and is a good excuse/reason to go into town to support local businesses. When I go to the centre I make sure I make the most of my time in town. If I wasn't going to Nurture I wouldn't go to town often.
I feel the Nurture centre has become an integral part of the community in Carmarthen town. It provides so many different opportunities to people, wether it be meeting for lunch with friends, finding help with their counsellors , improving wellbeing with their yoga classes or even going in to watch a film . If feel it would be a terrible loss to the town for them to move or even worse be unable to continue their efforts in making this community stronger, healthier and happier.
Nurture has brought a much-needed sense of community to Carmarthen town and access to affordable services. It helps with the aesthetics of the area too.
This centre allows a community to come together and support each other. There is nothing else comparable in Carmarthen.
Creating a safe and open space for community is essential, and Nurture does that.
It is the right space for all the treatments and other facilities for all ages that they provide. It is all so very convenient if you are going there for treatment or anything else that they provide. It is accessible by walking and by driving as the car park is nearby. Way is it when something good, council seem to change it or close it. It must be keep for the purpose that it is all ready being used for.
Nurture is a fantastic resource for Carmarthen and promotes all the right things we love to see in our town!
Nurture is a fantastic place. The cafe is accessible to everyone and has fab food at good prices. Lots of activities spanning all ages. Such a great place and a really good benefit for town to have this. Please don’t force it to close!
This is really valuable resource and offers some really good wellbeing services, along with a great cafe. This need to remain.
It would be sad to see another empty building.
Cafe serving local food, space for small local therapists, safe, inclusive space.
It a safe place to meet and share, a lovely central location.
It's the hub of the local community convenient to local shops and parking...now more than ever the services offered are important.
It's a wonderful place for the health and well being of locals.
I visit the centre regularly with my daughter for activities and for the cafe etc. When in town we then go to the market and/or to the shops and library. The nurture centre helped me to manage adapting to being a mother and I believe stopped me from needing to accessing NHS and other services. It helped allow me to return to work - from an economic perspective then allowing me to continue to access the local community and spend. Places like the nurture centre contribute to the economy in so many ways and should be valued.
Would be nice if CCC could help and encourage this centre to thrive.
It is such good place in the community.
The centre has provided valuable facilities for our family throughout the last few years. Retaining its position in the town centre helps to provide an essential support for the community which will be lost if it has to relocate.
It’s an asset to the well-being of the community!!
It is such a valuable asset to the well-being of the people of Carmarthenshire. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE 🙏
Places like Nurture are exactly the reason I still visit Carmarthen in person rather than buying everything online.
It has been essential to the well being of myself and my family, from a calming cafe to hypnobirthing, breast feeding group and mama creatives - I’m not sure how we would have got through the last few years without it. I always feel more ready to go into Carmarthen with the kids and shop after we’ve been ‘nurtured’. It’s a haven to the whole community by it’s central location, accessible to all, to pop in when they need a bit of tlc, don’t we all need that in our busy lives?
The ladies at nurture centre we’re so welcoming when I was struggling with my mental health after having my second child. They helped me feel welcome and cared for.
Nurture Centre is currently the home for a group which I attend weekly. This group has saved mine and many more lives and if this were to come to an end, many would be impacted. Some attend this centre as it within walking distance and central to Carmarthen, relocation of this group could be detrimental.
You have to experience it to understand how important it is. Go take a visit and attend a class.
As a family, it is a relaxing and beneficial spot to regroup. Otherwise visiting Carmarthen Town would become stressful therefore rare.
A valued community space.
I Have ms and attend a class that helps me greatly. There are people with other ailments that also attend.
I think it provides the same impact to the city as other established art council community hubs from Trinity Community Arts to Creative Response. There isn't anything else running in Carmarthen that could hold the weight of community health and wellbeing as what the Nurture center is managing to facilitate. Access to community meetings at our village community hall is so limited it has forced me out of my village and into Carmarthen and thank god I have the Nurture Center, or otherwise I wouldn't have anything. The library, Oreknot, there are similar stylized office layouts, and a ffew trendy cafes but nothing that emcompasses both with a focus on safety and especially for mothers with young children who don't want to be entirely isolated into that world and want their children to engage with the people of their community. From helping vulnerable adults, children and families, or just a healthy bite to eat, this is a haven for so many and its unforgivable for it to be facing this threat instead of recognizing exactly how much of an undertaking that they have so willingly done for the city actually is.
Nurture provides a great resource for the town and is a brilliant central venue for running my art workshops. For example in two weeks I will host a workshop for 18 weavers and spinners who will be travelling from the Swansea Valley to spend the day in Carmarthen and will doubtless spend money in shops and cafes while they are here. There is no other accessible and affordable space in Carmarthen and without Nurture I would have to take the workshop to a different location.
Please keep this fabulous resource.
Not everything should be about a financial value. You need places like the Nurture Centre to support people.
This is a unique venue which has made a great contribution to the town and has so much to offer. It would be a huge mistake to lose it and the negative effect on many lives would be great
Such a fab resource.
Places like nurture are few and far between. It is a real asset to the town as it provides a place for people to just exist and connect with others. Loosing nurture would be very negative for the town.
It’s a community project that belongs in the community and is a valuable asset to Carmarthen.
it truly provides services that contribute to the wellbeing of local people , which after the pandemic is especially essential. it brings people into town and helps local shops and small businesses in the town centre. and it also provides people with their own small businesses with a place to practice their trade/therapies/workshops/etc in our town when they may not be able to afford a full rent.
Its a safe space, accessible therapies, and important meeting point always a friendly face , support and community. Please don’t loose this valuable service. Especially at this time with it helping so many families.
It has become an essential part of people's well-being and sense of community.
what would you put there,? the local town centre is dying, so many shops are closing, even the charity shops. CCC need to embrace and promote this great facility.
Nurture should remain; it is a really needed asset, and in a fantastic position for those of us that live out of town. If it is closed I believe the local shops and business's will suffer.
I go to the cafe, I have counselling there. It's saved my life!
The Nurture Centre is a very inclusive environment and is the go to place for resources to improve wellbeing. Allowing them to find another home would be a great loss.
It's a vital link with services for pregnant women and those with young children which cater to mental and physical health through groups and yoga etc
I work in Carmarthen Job centre. I greatly value the services provided by the Nurture Centre for me and my clients.
It s a reason to get out & leave the house after being stuck indoors for so long, due to the Covid pandemic.
It provides essential services which contribute to health and wellbeing. People who use these services also contribute to the economy of Carmarthen town.
The Nurture Centre is an invaluable hub for Carmarthen Town. The groups and classes held there have been like a lifeline to me since having my son. It’s a safe space for everyone who attends, which is ever so lacking in our community these days. It brings business to the town as I for one, rarely visited before I started coming to the centre as I live 40 minutes away, where as now I’m there 3 times a week, and I spend money in various shops and cafe’s every time I visit. I would simply not be visiting Carmarthen if the centre wasn’t there. Please renew the lease, our Community needs it.
It offers alternative services. A good space for classes. Central for the town centre.
I think Nurture is a vital part of Carmarthen town.
Please keep Nurture Centre open for our local community !!!! It will have a negative impact over our lives if you don't! Thank you.
As a mother of young children this centre is an absolutely vital part of my life & sense of belonging to the community.
Nurture centre is one of the few places in Carmarthen that holds events, support groups and clubs that everyone is welcome to. Its presence is Carmarthen is so important to keeping our community going and connecting with each other.
What a wonderful gem of a place Carmarthen needs this place now more than ever thanks so much.
It’s serving a purpose to a wider community
Please renew lease they do such a vital job in the community.
I attend 2 mother and baby classes per week at the nurture centre Carmarthen, at both of these groups I know a lot of mums that attend 2-3 classes and meet ups at the Nurture centre every week. I happily drive 25 minutes into Carmarthen from my home at least twice a week specifically to attend classes at the nurture centre so I almost always go into the shops to make the trip worthwhile too. The classes I attend have had a huge positive impact on my mental Heath after feeling very isolated spending so much time home alone with my new baby. I have met friends here and we very often call into local cafes/ coffee shops afterwards. It would be a great shame to see the Nurture centre leave Carmarthen. I would almost never visit the town of it were to go.
Moving it will be a big loss to Carmarthen as it’s so accessible to get to and serves the community with several options .
It is a unique centre, and we are lucky to have it here in such a convenient venue.
It is an incredible place, well needed
The best thing that has happened in our town. With so many mental health issues following Covid 19 and so much uncertainty with the world, especially how so may people are worrying about finances with unprecedented rises in household bills and petrol this is one place that really looks after people’s emotional and psychological well being a rare and needed breath of fresh air in our stressed world right now.
It's not just economics that makes a success of a town, it's also the well-being of its population and visitors, to put a value on this is not easy as its impact is felt by many other services/businesses. Wales has a good history of looking after its people from the Senedd down, its one of the things that make living here a joy.
It’s a lifeline for many.
What's more important to you peoples well being or money?
Because it is a safe space for new moms.
Please remember this is a wellbeing centre of great importance to the people of Carmarthenshire and adds huge value to the town of Carmarthen.
The nurture Center is a valuable place for people to meet up, it’s a place where people can have therapies, children can enjoy an array of classes, from ballet to art. It’s central and easy to park, no real travel is needed if you live in Carmarthen or close to it. The people who run the nurture have spent much time making a safe and comfortable place for all. They even give room For free food to be handed out and supply food by donation. They have worked hard to try and include services for all and to families on low income. It would be sad to see this place go! This is one place that needs to stay!
It’s an amazing community space and very much needed!
The well-being of a lot of people would be affected should Nurture discontinue, it provides a very beneficial service in so many different ways.
Community support is vital and Nurture support the community in so many ways. Lots of people will be lost without them/this service, impacting greatly in many areas, especially wellbeing and mental health. The brain needs to experience community, it’s part of our fundamental needs as humans and with the lack of this in villages and towns in modern day culture, it is places like the Nurture Centre that provide this for us ♥️
This is an amazing place to have locally and I still remember how delighted I was to discover the lovely cafe. A wonderful place that offers something for everyone.
Nurture centre allows people to access essential wellbeing services, at at time when providing this kind of support is vital for both individuals and families with young children. It is also a lifeline for many vulnerable people in terms of food provision services and a place to find support in the community with others.
Nurture helps CCC to fulfil many of their obligations to the people of Carmarthen and to the Welsh Gov. it would help CCC to meet its duty under the Future Generations Act and the Socio-Economic duty, by looking further than the immediate monetary value of the building and looking at the wider social and well-being impact it has. The groups of people that often use Nurture are those that have been hit hardest by the non-pharmaceutical interventions of the pandemic. Women, children and those with lower incomes. I would welcome Nurture working with CCC to see how they can both work together to explore how they can be supported to do even more to re-build social capital and to support the areas well-bing.
It Provides a suitable workplace for artists.
We travel up to visit family in the area and always stop off on the way; we wouldn’t have much reason to stop if Nurture has to move; it would be such a shame to lose a wonderful asset like Nurture.
It would be a crime not to renew the lease. Nurture is a safe space that is only going to continue to grow and attract more people in need of its many services.
It’s a fantastic asset to Carmarthen especially the outdoor cafe, I have told loads of people about it and probably wouldn’t visit Carmarthen if it wasn’t there.
Why would ccc need this building. ? They have plenty more which are vacant . Better to see a building used and evolving than be empty.
It is a valuable and needed centre of health and well being for all types of people. I have made friends there so is an accessible place to help loneliness and everyone are always friendly.
This is a unique facility, drawing visitors to the town centre. At a time when established, traditional retail outlets are facing serious challenges due to economic downturn and Covid-related moves to even more online shopping, I believe it is vital for our historic town to look to alternative and progressive outlets to draw in consumers. To do otherwise leaves it open to more pound shops and "bookies" which will do nothing for the long term sustainability of our Town Centre.
We use nurture as a hub for networking. As local businesses to Carmarthen nurture is perfectly situated for this.
An amazing place that is vital to the community.
Nurture provides an opportunity for us all to access well-being resources and food accounting for intolerances. We also have a business networking group that meets there weekly bringing 15-20 business owners a week into Carmarthen town.
amazing place with amazing practitioners.
The nurture center has been such a great place for me to start my own entertainment events there for children from Carmarthen and surrounding areas.
While I don't currently use this resource if my children were younger and if we lived closer I would have found it beneficial to our wellbeing. Nurture is trying to create something vital to families who are struggling.
Nurture is an amazing place and is the soul of our community.
The Nurture Centre is a very positive addition to Carmarthen.
Nurture has proven its self to be a valuable asset to Carmarthen town centre.
Nurture is an oasis of calm in Carmarthen. My family attend courses and events there and my 86 year old mother loves to eat in the cafe, as do my two children. If Nurture closed down, we would shop in Lampeter instead.
Nurture has been essential for mine and my family's wellbeing and health and my business.
With the way shops are closing in Carmarthen, it would be a shame if CCC would allow another empty building. Nurture has been a helping the community through the well being classes, holistic therapist And community programmes. Best of luck.
It's been a lifeline for me as a first time mum and the support groups it has held. It's also a beautiful place to start any day out in Carmarthen.
Nurture gives people a reason to call into town. To pay to park in John St car park. To call in to the market. I would miss Nurture if it wasn’t there.
This centre is a must for Carmarthen!....the impact it has had over the time they have been there is amazing!
Nurture is a vital community resource. Patronage of the centre also spills over into the local shops and businesses, so it's a win/win.
Its time for CCC to support the amazing places like the Nurture Centre who help help so many people.
It is an excellent Centre to support the wellbeing of the population and also draws people into town. It is such a valuable asset and would be a huge loss if it was to shut.
From the outset, Nurture Centre has been concerned about the needs of local people and has made efforts to support those who require it. They have provided a diverse range of facilities, targeted at a wide range of people. I have been impressed by their ability and willingness to respond quickly to the needs of particular groups, eg. provision of Christmas dinners. This is a wonderful demonstration of a grassroots body which is a huge asset to Carmarthen and neighbouring areas and I believe the County Council should renew the lease and welcome their continued presence on the premises.
Nurture provides a completely unique service to support families. It has enhanced my wellbeing and been there for me. They’ve adapted in difficulty times to tackle isolation and keep communities connected. It is really important to Carmarthen and a reason to visit the town.
They really helped me when I first had my baby and I felt isolated and alone.
The Nurture centre location in the centre of town is critical to users who don’t have access to a car. Public transport can be a challenge for parents with young children, the elderly and those with additional needs all of whom use the Nurture Centre. Moving to a less central location may involve more complex journeys by public transport and thus reduce usage of the facility.
Nurture Centre were there when I faced giving birth alone, I attended online classes and have since supported their business and because of visiting them I have put money into the other local businesses. I know that they have been innovative in hard times, they have supported isolated people and encouraged them to safely rejoin the community and I want to be able to continue to use their services. They are what community is all about and have done all they can to welcome people along. If you cannot see what a treasure this place is, then you really have lost touch in the community.
The Nurture centre has played a key part in my postpartum journey. Housing a breast feeding group which meant I was able to meet other mothers, share advice, have an adult conversation whilst enjoying a coffee and a piece of cake! I also attend baby massage and yoga at the centre. The centre is easy access, easy to park, plenty of space for buggies and so easy to pop into town for the little bits after the class or group!
Nurture is one of the few spaces available that provides fantastic classes/ programmes that benefit the community. I attend several classes held at the nurture with my baby daughter that just aren't available anywhere else locally (baby massage and child friendly yoga classes) as well as meeting up with other mums for the breastfeeding support group. It has really helped me connect with other mums in the area and to bond with my baby. I also know that it has run many programmes/ events to support the local people and to bring the community together (Christmas dinners for those on low income or those who are alone, food Collab nights with other businesses, community cinema nights etc). Carmarthen has lost a lot of its high street chain stores, and it really needs to hang on to unique businesses like this that can provide something different that encourages people to still venture into town.
They're a vital wellbeing service, even if it's just for a chat! They are all amazing.
Please keep it.
Nurture is supportive of grass root businesses. I spend money in Carmarthen when there. Haverfordwest has the Haver Hub, Carmarthen should retain and support Nurture especially with the current economy.
Nurture is such a wonderful peaceful place, the kind we need in all our lives right now. And if l didn't come to Nurture l may not visit Carmarthen so often as l have more business in Llanelli.
The nurture centre is a diverse community hub offering a base where like minded people can meet and offer companionship and connection.
There are not enough places like Nurture, offering acceptance and kindness in a world that can be challenging. It has such an important role in a town that needs help to evolve now into a thriving positive community experience rather than pure commercial enterprise.
Provides a well being hub for so many , encourages young people to be sustainable and spend time in the centre.
Nurture has provided many and varied services for the local community and been source of support for many local businesses throughout the times on uncertainty.
Nurture is one of the only venues in Carmarthen town providing good wellbeing services, accessible exercise, opportunities to learn and grow, support for mothers and babies, it should not leave Carmarthen town. It would be of detriment, not to mention the business it brings. I know many parents that sit in coffee shops while their teens go to yoga classes, I pop into town when I drop off my partner for her services too. We often go into town for food after classes also.
This is an essential part of the structure of Carmarthen town and it would be a travesty to loose it. I would no longer come to Carmarthen if I couldn’t visit Nurture, I live in Cross Hands and I have plenty of shops right on my doorstep that would happily take my money. Please think twice about not renewing the lease!
Vital resource for the Carmarthen community - CCC should be very proud of how the Nurture Centre connects and supports the local community.
Nurture is a safe space, this is something that is so needed in any town. I have used The Nurture Centre as a service user but I also run a business in Carmarthen and they support us too by buying local.
Nurture Centre is new to me, however it is very welcoming and has such a lovely feel about it. Over the few weeks I have visited to drop my daughter to art class, I have noticed how many great things it offers the community and if I lived in Carmarthen I would definitely visit it more. I think it has so much to offer the community it needs to stay open.
Every town should have a nurture centre!
I am a health professional providing a service at the NC for the people of Carmarthen. I think the service is crucial.
It's a no brainer!
This is a fantastic resource for the community and should be enabled to continue.
Nurture helps people from all walks of life, it improves mental health & wellbeing and provides a safe space for the community. While it does bring customers into the town , its purpose if far more wide ranging as it has helped people through the pandemic with social , economic & mental & physical issues. It would be a great loss to the community if it went . I would definitely visit more if I had time .
Nurture has laid down good roots and is a lifeline to those who have no transport. If it were to move outside of town people may not be able to benefit from their support. Keep nurture 😉
The diversity of events held there indicates the need for the community to connect in so many ways. It is ideally placed next to the car park, nearby shops, on a flat level, and everyone knows how to find it.
I believe the centre should stay open as it's a life line for people to meet it also offers a wide variety of classes.
The Nurture centre gives people many tools to improve their mental, emotional and physical health.
Nurture has had a massive positive impact on the health, nutrition and mental well-being of its users who come from all over the county. Carmarthen desperately needs a supportive and innovative facility like Nurture. Please please extend their lease by ten years. I wouldn’t travel into Carmarthen and spend in the shops, restaurants and leisure facilities otherwise. Thank you Carmarthenshire County Council!
Nurture Centre has helped save my mental health on the birth of my two children. I’ve made life long friendships because of Nurture and have taken part in the extra activities that are help there like yoga and baby massage. Whenever I visit, I always end up getting lunch and drinks out in town. I really hope the council gets behind to save this precious facility.
If you want to save money on health and social care, keep nurture open.
The nurture centre has provided me with a base, somewhere that gives me confidence as a new mother to spend time in town. I know that whenever I need to breastfeed my child while shopping I can go there (without this support I wouldn’t feel comfortable shopping in town). Also going to groups there throughout the week gives me a structure to my day/week which enables me to spend time shopping/eating/drinking in town. Without the nurture centre I almost certainly wouldn’t spend much time or money in Carmarthen town as I would probably do most of my shopping online at home.
Nurture centre is a huge support for parents. As a first time mother I found their services essential.
Nurture has become a safe place for many. It is the base for many current and future projects. It is a space for and by the community. If nurture dissapears it will be a great lost for all of us who consider the venue a part of our routine, self-care, community and socialization. There has been so much hard work to make the space welcoming and it has become a go to place for the people of Carmarthen and surroundings
Nurture Centre has been a fantastic resource for me when I was a new mother - it provided a safe place for me to take my baby and have support with my mental health. During the pandemic I joined in with events online and now it's wonderful to be back - I love the space it provides and the cafe and it's a very important part of Carmarthen town and the community. The work they have done to transform the centre is incredible.
Nurture is a vital hub and welcoming centre especially for Mums and children. It has been absolutely vital in giving community to our daughter who is a single Mum with a young baby and who is recovering from a domestically abusive relationship. Without Nurture she would be isolated whereas, because of Nurture, she has a group of friends and a friendly place to go, a therapist and help and advice from Staci and the other Mums. In addition to the vital role Nurture plays in her life, it provides a support network for a host of people. Everyone is welcome at Nurture and the food is delicious, affordable and nutritious. Plus there is a community freezer supplying healthy cooked meals free for those who need it or for a small donation. Nurture provides a vital service to our community.
Please consider renewing the lease. The Nurture Centre is invaluable to our local community.
The nurture centre is beneficial to my daughter’s mental health and has helped her immensely.
Physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is so important, surely the pandemic has reemphasised this? With so many retail premises empty in the town why would you evict a lovely team of people who breathe life, kindness and vitality into Carmarthen. Why does everything have to be about economic growth? It's short sighted and deeply flawed.
Nurture provided an invaluable service to me when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, and it would be awful for future pregnant women to lose this vital support, let alone all the other wonderful services they offer.
Units that support parents are incredibly important for local communities. Losing the support parents- especially mothers- get would be a massive loss to Carmarthen. Especially as many of our young children have a lot of catching up to do in terms of their social development thanks to covid.
Nurture is such a wonderful place to be. Everyone there is so lovely. It is the main reason I come to Carmarthen at all. I've attended a year long yoga course there and would incorporate shopping in the town while I was there. Nurture has helped so many people and has grown to be such a valuable resource.
It is helping save money and resources from other area's by providing a service, education and safe space for the community's health and well being. Every town needs this, especially now.
It offers such a broad range of activities, brings people together, provides vital wellbeing and connection, employment, acts as a hub, a working example of community/local resilience that CCC should be proud of.
This is an amazing space in Carmarthen..with yoga space which is hard to find in Carmarthen..It is very much needed in the town .
It's such a lovely space to meet friends and work colleagues for a meal or coffee catch up. The outdoor cafe is amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. After having gone for lunch I discovered the centre had yoga, tai chi, massage, film nights, a young lgtbq group, breast feeding group, repair centre and lots more. I remember the space as the old day centre as well and I think it's turned into a great community space. I think it's a great place with scope to continuously develop. I wish the cafe was open everyday in winter. It's one of my favourite places to go now to meet up with people and so convenient to the car park. I hope it stays.
One of the best places in Carmarthen for a very long time!
There isn’t another place like nurture in town, it is very much needed, well being is paramount as we come out of the pandemic please don’t take it away.
We can't have more empty buildings - what Nurture offers is vital to the town.
Nurture is a safe space that increases wellbeing, it's a community and its helping not just residents of carmarthen but also the next generation.
Its is one of the most valuable resources in Wales . Cannot exaggerate how important it is to wellbeing and community.
It is very much needed to help people after the pandemic and to promote their well being and mental health.
The nurture centre is such a fantastic resource. It has made a huge difference to our family because it has been hosting events which have brought us al together. It is a very special space that is worthy of resourcing by the council. It does draw people in to support the town economically however it also supports the mental health and well-being of many. The council would do well to consider the holistic nature and needs of economic growth in the future by continuing to support the centre. Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
Nurture is a perfect space for our group of carers to meet. As soon as I first walked in I knew it was an ideal venue for them as it is a calm, peaceful place with friendly people. We have used the small room and hall for different activities and everyone gives positive feedback. Sometimes it’s the only time they have a break from their caring role and Nurture has played an important part in allowing carers to relax and connect with others in an informal setting. It is also very convenient to get to with parking nearby.
This needs to remain in a central easy accessible area. I visit Carmarthen more regularly now via bus . Huge community spirit, and efforts like these should be supported and welcomed .
Having the hub at nuture centre offers so many elements yoga, creative ventures, wellbeing, cafe and community support when I was pregnant and post natally. It would be a huge loss to Carmarthen if it is no longer there or placed out of town. I come to Carmarthen specifically to go there and then often go into town to buy a few bits at the same time.
It provides key services in a central location, and adds to the mix of unique and people led businesses
Nurture is a fantastic community. There are classes and facilities there that I have never accessed anywhere else.
The breastfeeding support group held at nurture was a godsend as a first time mum during a pandemic! I travel from llanelli once a week to attend, meeting a friend there who is also from out of town. We would always but coffee and cake there but we would also go into town afterwards for lunch and a have a nose around the shops and run errands together. If it wasn't for nurture I would have been doing my shopping closer to home and wouldn't visit carmarthen as often.
A safe central meeting point is so important to wellbeing and a rare thing to have in a community. I travel specifically to visit the nurture centre, pay for parking and visit the surrounding shops. I would rarely come into Carmarthen centre otherwise.
It seems obvious to me that Carmarthen needs the Nurture Centre. Spaces that promote wellbeing and community are an essential component of a thriving town ecosystem.
Nurture cafe provides an unique place to stop by for refreshment when in town, it really would be a shame to lose it.
Fantastic place, helped me a lot.
The Nurture Centre offers a broad selection of services that are absolutely vital to the community. It is a hub of Love that would be greatly missed should it have to go. Carmarthen would be a lesser place without it x.
It is a beacon of light in dark times and Carmarthen wouldn’t be the same without it.
Please keep this amazing place going. It's been absolutely vital for my mental health and the acceptance, accessibility, inclusion and neurodiversity-acceptance has truly enabled me to rebuild myself and my life. The guys at the Nurture Centre give from their hearts, they truly are the community that care in Carmarthen. I feel loved and cared for when I visit the Nurture Centre, and that stays with me and rebuilds me bit by bit. I cannot over emphasize how important this community is to me and so many others. It truly is the example of a heartfelt and caring community. It is the one place those of us, that are on the breadline with poverty, can truly attend and feel welcomed. Please do not let this incredibly valuable asset end. It is a lifeline for so many of us. I beg you. ❤️
It offers a really supportive community space readily accessible to public transport.
Nurture is a community hub…a first port of call when I go into town. It is so important to so many people.
Nurture is an all inclusive centre where anyone can go and be supported, educated and thrive in a caring community atmosphere. The loss would be far reaching but if it remained the gains would be priceless.
I am not local to Carmarthen. I am in Swansea. But I travel to Carmarthen specifically to visit Nurture. They provide an amazing space and services. Please save such a great gift they have given to the local and wider community.
Nurture is an important place. Not just for me but also for a lot of other people I've come to know when visiting. There are so many people benefitting from all the activities that take place there! The idea of it closing down is awful. Now, more than ever, we need a safe place where we can meet with like minded people, do activities, enjoy the food and/or a cuppa with friends in their cafe...Carmarthen needs this nurturing place. People travel from far and wide to come to meetings and get togethers. Because of this also more time (and money) is spend in town. Please support them and make it possible for them to continue their important work. Thank you!
The service that the Nurture Centre provides has benefited many local people and drawn them into town. It provides lots of wellbeing activities and supports the wellbeing of local people which is very much needed at the moment. I have personally benefited from the sessions the centre offers and it would be a great shame if it was to close.
A decent town needs a variety of shops and places to go , not just coffee shops and charity shops.
Nurture should remain as its contribution to the economy is far more than just its financial contribution by bringing footfall into the town. Without a safe and welcoming space to work on my mental resilience and well-being over the last two years I wouldn’t now be popping into town weekly or even be back in work earning a full wage to contribute to the economy. Access to these services are vital now more than ever given the effect of the last two years on us the people who contribute to bringing back a thriving economy. But firstly the people must thrive in order to make it reality.
Nurture is a gem to Carmarthen and we need the centre as a place for the benefit of the local community. It’s also located to access the shops so ties in very conveniently for going into town. Before covid I enjoyed my Pilates lessons and then going to have lunch afterwards at one of the local cafes. Living in Llandeilo, I would plan a visit to Carmarthen around going to my fitness classes at the Nurture Centre.
Nurture is the centre of the community where people come together, it supports wellbeing, diversity and offers so much to the community it brings people In to the town, it provides well needed classes that are not offered elsewhere, it would be detrimental to the community if it were to close.
it is the pulse of an all encompassing community
It’s a great resource with parking nearby. During the pandemic I used the outdoor cafe regularly before/ after going into town. I’ve also been to various events there.
Nurture is a wonderful resource and it's what brings me to Carmarthen. I wouldn't come otherwise. I usually go in to the town's shops before and after my Nurture Centre visit. It would be a sorry waste to not keep it going as it meets the needs of so many.
It is hugely valuable to the community.
A really important centre for LGBTQ events.
It has changed my life for the better in many ways with positive mental well-being and regular socialising in the local town with friends.
With so much underfunding of essential services across the NHS and difficulty accessing support , whether that maybe as a new mother or seeking well being and mental health support in the form of a counsellor / therapist ; nurture is invaluable. They have recognised there’s a huge gap and worked tirelessly to fill it , providing essential support . This facility is needed now more than ever.
It offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages, which gives a reason to leave the house and promote socialisation and good mental health.Very relaxed environment and friendly staff.
It is an asset to the community.
I live in Morriston, Swansea -and I travel specifically to Carmarthen to visit nurture for massage and yoga. I then shop in the town centre because I’m there and it’s convenient- I wouldn’t have discovered the lovely shops there if it wasn’t for Nurture!
The Nurture Centre has been an amazing example of community, offering services for all groups, needs, ages and interests. At a time when Carmarthen has lost so much from its town, to lose the centre would further alienate it’s local people and reduce visitors to town.
Since Nurture has taken over this empty building I have had many visits there it’s a welcoming relaxing place where myself and my family have enjoyed what nurture has to offer,I feel Carmarthen town has benefited from having the Nurture centre.
The Nurture Centre is at the heart of the Carmarthen community. We need this community hub more than ever, post- pandemic for all our wellbeing. It's so accessible and has so much to offer. Please let the centre remain there, it would be such a loss to so many it went. Diolch.
Nurture offers a warm welcoming place plus health enhancing activities.
We need community hubs like this, that support wellbeing and empower people to care for their own health and wellness, whilst also providing a beautiful space and fantastic healthy food. Carmarthen is known for its small businesses and individual shops and cafes and the Nurture Centre is an integral part of this.
Nurture builds the community and creates a ripple effect through Carmarthen.
More than ever in the current health crisis a tranquil meeting place that offers well being, company and a chance to de-stress is a must have for ant town This centre draws people from not just the immediate local community who then explore the local shops and hostelries.
Please keep it.
It provides a unique service that helps many people who need that service not found elsewhere.
Please keep this going they have made all the difference to my mental health and my family as well. I travel all thr way from Swansea to visit and love to come to carmarthen shops on route. I dont think I would come so frequently if it wasnt for Nuture.
Nurture is really great. Breastfeeding positive, great resources for parenting and the main reason I come into Carmarthen. I spend money in the local independent shops, such as fruits of Eden and aardvark. Its helped my wellbeing to be able to have a calm place to sit with my children, they have film nights and events that bring me and my family into town. Carmarthen would be of no interest to me if Nurture wasn't there, I'd go to Llanelli instead as its nearer for me.
A very much needed resource for families.
It's a good use of a building that was otherwise empty, with so many other empty premises in the town, please let Nurture renew the lease.
It has given meaning to the local community and has an important message. It does good work and is the first point of contact for many people that need help/support but don't know where to turn. It has opened friendly doors to people and supported the growth of new relationships.
Nurture Centre is a huge asset to Carmarthen, providing a safe space for its visitors as a community hub providing health and wellbeing support which is a benefit to the people of Carmarthen.
It’s an important resource for people to access for many reasons.
Please keep Nurture it has helped so many people in the last few years. And l am sure local shops will benefit if it is kept open.
Nurture is a lifeboat. It is a place where everyone is welcome and is such a safe space. It really does an amazing job at taking care of and making our community more resilient.
I would have been lost with out the prenatal and postnatal support offered at nurture. Please don't deny others this support.
It is a resource unlike anything that other services provide. During my pregnancy and post natal period I gained benefits and support via the centre that an overstretched NHS simply could not provide.
The nurture Centre has been great for my daughter attending ballet. And it's great to be utilised for other events. The cafe is lovely too. Its a great part of carmarthen too, and there should be a great effort made to keep it for the town.
The Nurture Centre does such a good job of providing a place of relaxation and safety in the centre of Carmarthen.
Nurture should remain. It helps the community with wellbeing and support. It’s a lovely set up and the staff so welcoming. Please stay!
For me and many other women, Nurture is the center of carmarthen. It is a place where we can go to for support and guidance and where we feel safe. I attend many of the groups at Nurture and without these my wellbeing would suffer considerably.
In a post pandemic era, businesses like this should be easily accessible and easily. Identifiable within our community. The premises currently have both these features and need the opportunity to stay and build stronger community connections.
It’s important for our towns community that the nurture centre stays open, it’s a open space for all to enjoy.
It helps my wellbeing. I go to a Tai Chi class and it's good for my physical and mental health. I also get to socialise.
It is a vital part of the community.
Nurture is a most valuable resource for the people of Carmarthen. It is a hub providing many wonderful activities and facilities which are very much needed. Carmarthen would be a poorer place without Nurture in this central position within our town.
I know a lot of friends visit and love the Nurture Centre. I've been too, and you serve lovely local food.
It's been beneficial to mine and other people's mental health.
We need to support local businesses as much as possible to generate the local economy besides well being of its community.
I have recommended a number of groups that are run at nurture to patients I work with in NHS. The town needs a community venue that hosts a variety of groups in a convenient location.
Nurture Centre is a sense of community and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Amazing place.
The nurture centre makes A community stronger It's great to hire and make community projects for the local area and has helped many people. Without the nurture centre my business would not of grown as I first started hiring room there and affordable prices.
I cant drive due to Glaucoma Easier for me to walk to Nurture Centre from where I live, than other places which are out of town. And if I did drive, I would park for 2 hours, one hour in Nurture and then the rest shopping in town.
Carmarthen needs these spaces. After the pandemic it more important than ever. Giving people a reason to come into town is essential if it is going to recover.
It is an essential service from a whole range of providers that enable and enlighten people's lives.
It is a wonderful venue which has helped myself and other members of my family. It is so important to the mental health and wellbeing of the community which is even more important than ever before.
This is a special place providing a unique experience. I have attended fitness classes there and it is the only setting where I feel relaxed and inspired by the environment.
Mental well being is vital and the centre offers many different aspects on how to improve mine.
As the effects of the pandemic are being felt by almost everyone we need this space more than ever. Coming together as a community and taking care of our wellbeing is vital and should be prioritised by CCC.
There’s isn’t any where else like Nurture.
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop Carmarthen into a town that believes in nurture and wellbeing of the people who live, work & visit the town. The nurture centre in the position it currently is makes Wellbeing truest at the heart of the town.
This place is exactly what we need to improve our wellbeing and connect with community project after Covid 19. Businesses use this place to net work. As a freelance artist this place is where I make my work and bring people to events. This place has given the community a place to take care of their wellbeing and take classes to improve their health also. Having the cafe bring people to the town after lunch.
Nurture cafe has easy access for disabled people. Close to the car park ,for mothers and children and those who attend classes and events. It provides space for people to use to further their business and for people to bring it from their services.
The Nurture centre is there to nurture. It’s doing it’s job well.
The Nurture Centre is an invaluable resource for the wellbeing of people in and around Carmarthen. After all the hard work that has been put in to establish the Centre it would be a travesty to do away with it. Town Centres need more than shops to keep them vibrant and healthy, they need community spaces too.
There is no other resource that offers services for our well-being in Carmarthen. It’s a beautiful, non-commercial venture that needs to be supported. Rather them than another chain.
Please keep Carmarthen alive too many shops and center been closed because you are charging a lot to open any activity. Carmarthen turned into ghost town you know that.
Nurture has provided myself with a safe space to feel comfortable with going into town.
Really hard to find places like this, especially for new mums in rural areas. It gets very lonely so nice to have a place to go.
Nurture Centre is a lifeline for many! We all need it to continue to be a place of comfort, safety, knowledge.
Such an important resource for support especially now after the hard times we've been through.
Really brilliant addition to the town centre, great spot, very accessible and accommodating. Lots of interesting, sustainable and educational usage and users.great cafe with outdoor access virtually nothing similar in Carmarthen
The classes, therapies and other events facilitated by Nurture are as essential for the the town and its community as any other essential services in Carmarthen. Not to mention that the concept is unique, initiative and able change and adapt to the very current needs of the community.
It's a great safe space fir the community and was vital help during our pregnancy and the aftercare.
Nurture Centre has become a very valuable and successful community hwb.. Long may it continue.
It a well run centre that benefits the individual and the community.
Nurture is very community orientated, I like to come into town to go there for lunch and go shopping, I also collect my weekly organic veg box from there and then visit the town to do the rest of my shopping.. If it closed I would be more likely to look for a local veg box delivery in Kidwelly area and be less inclined to bother coming in for the rest of my things and shop online..but it's nice to get out into Carmarthen for a change and have a base to go to when I'm there..
It’s a little piece of heaven. Sitting in the cafe in the fresh air with friends is so relaxing plus all the treatments on offer.
Wellbeing is key to social and and economic growth and the Nurture Centre is a great asset to the town.
It's essential to a lot of people's well being.
fantastic, community-centred venue with the spirit of Carmarthen at heart!
Nurture is a fantastic resource for Carmarthen providing a caring community which is essential in this post COVID period
The social implications would be huge and many people would loose a lifeline.
Its integral to peoples mental and physical health.
Nurture makes Carmarthen a better, kinder town.
Nurture is an amazing venue and place for the people of Carmarthen. Covid has been hard for so many people and I think the importance of this place will grow and grow to help the well-being of the people in the community. This would not be a success if moved outside of the town centre as it can almost me used also as a walk-in centre when you need it most!
The Nurture Centre is such an important hub, it has changed Carmarthen SO MUCH for the better. I just cannot say enough about what a fantastic place it is. The variety of services they provide is outstanding.
A healthy population will ensure the success of a town, at this time of change and uncertainty it would be folly to uproot a centre that provides well-being support to many of the town’s residents.
I think it would be short sighted of CCC not to support the Nurture Centre. Surely accessible, integrated services for health and wellbeing should be high on your agenda. The ethos of this setting is important, accessibility to all members of the public is essential - the work done here, the growth, reputation, charity and good work has been amazing - come on CCC,for goodness sake - yes GOODNESS, support local people, support the people who have driven this and support goodness and investment, financial and other, in our community.
I’m new to the area and no friends just had a baby , then I come across the nurture centre which does baby Massage classes I picked up the Courage to go! I meet long term friendship that we now meet one’s a week for a coffee in town , I also take my child to ballet classes . The nurture centre is the core of Carmarthen town in my view .
An excellent reason to come to Carmarthen. I wouldn't come to Carmarthen or visit the other independent shops if I didn't come for events/course put on by or facilitated by the nurture centre.
The Nurture Centre has been a core resource in my recovery from severe mental illness. It is a place I have nourished my body through yoga and also through food there. Without it, I would not have the same sage supportive network and I would be heavily missing an entire portion of my pillars of well-being. I would have fewer people and resources to rely on in crisis. Additionally, every time I visit Nurture, I get my food shopping and browse the shops in town. Simply having a reason to go out and visit Nurture, makes my everyday tasks much easier to engage with and I even enjoy browsing the shops much more so I spend more time doing it.
It’s exactly what the town needs.
The only local place to provide something for everyone and inspire and bring together the community. There is nowhere quite like Nurture!
Nurture is a great community space for supporting many kinds of people, especially lots of vulnerable groups, with a focus on sustainability and wellbeing. It's loss would be a big loss to Carmarthen.
I have found the Nurture Centre to be a hugely valuable resource right in the town centre. From yoga to art classes, many members of my family have benefitted and we typically combine with shopping in town. Our town needs facilities like these. Especially valuable are their initiatives to support new mums.
The nurture centre is a vital part of the community in Carmarthen. It’s a hub for people who desperately need it. Without it, the collective mental health of the community will suffer.
One of the very few businesses still connected with the local community.
It’s a great place for all ages with something for everyone.
Nurture has been a lifesaver for my mental health as a new Mum during the pandemic. It has helped me to make connections with the local community whilst also looking after my physical and mental wellbeing during breastfeeding groups, yoga sessions and art events. Nurture is a community hub and brings people like myself in to Carmarthen town from rural areas. This has a positive effect on the economy of Carmarthen town as I (and the other Mums) often pop into town after for a bit of shopping and lunch, as well as using public transport services to travel back and forth. A lot of us are visiting Carmarthen 2-3 times a week for various events at the centre, when we wouldn't otherwise be coming into town.
It's a vital resource for local people's wellbeing, both mental health & physical health.
These well being centres are essential to community mental health. They offer both physical and mental support that is hard to find elsewhere. A visit to the centre combined with town shopping is an beneficial to all!
Breastfeeding group was a life saver for me and my little boy, and i have made some life long mum friends along the way xx
The community would be severely impacted.
With well-being at an all time low, CCC need to be supporting enterprises such as the Nurture Centre which provides a much needed service in the town.
Nurture is fantastic. It has supported me whilst my baby was young and we continue to visit (cafe, haircuts). When we visit we ALWAYS park in the council car park behind and ALWAYS visit local shops, which we wouldn’t do if it wasn’t for the trip to nurture. I strongly urge CCC to extend the lease for Nurture, the services they offer not exclusively, but very importantly, to young parents are of huge benefit - perhaps not easily measurable, but having benefitted from their support, I can confirm it was very much appreciated.
Nurture provides a valuable and easily accessible resource for health and wellbeing within the Town Centre. Many of my customers are also regular and active customers at Nurture and access a variety of their services. Support for business start-ups and other community groups is also an important side to Nurture's provision.
We need places like this for our communities mental health, now more than ever.
Nurture provides a wonderful community hub which massively increases well-being by creating opportunities for connection and by running beneficial groups and courses. Its current location is excellent as it is easy to get to, very close to the heart of town, but also feels a little tucked away so more peaceful. Please do not let such a beneficial part of town disappear!
The Nurture has been a safe space for myself in the past few years and I enjoy going there for coffee and food. They help facilitate LGBTQ events in the town which is a massive boost for the community. I usually go to the nurture and then have a walk around town, it's such an important space and I'm not sure how I would cope without their hospitality, counselling and such a calming space. Please renew their lease as they are a safe haven for a lot of people in the community
Nurture Centre has tried so very hard to continue during the last 2 years. It would be incredibly cruel not to renew their lease. They are a real benefit to the town.
Community is important.
It is an important place for the community. A central space to hold events and a great meeting place with a positive ethos.
Nurture provides opportunities for people from many walks of life to socialise, to care for themselves and to find support and information. It is an irreplaceable resource.
A centre like this is vitally important in a town centre.
It’s a thriving hub of well-being support + much appreciated by all.
Please please please keep this valuable resource.
I was looking forward to joining Tai Chi classes this May with my pensioner dad. His partner already attends Yoga courses at the centre. The nurture centre has replaced what used to happen at the adult learning centre and more! Carmarthen would become a sad town more like Llanelli without this supportive centre!
Put yourself in the shoes of the new mother tackling motherhood, breastfeeding, seeking connection, support, help, companionship. Put yourself in the shoes of the small business owner, who’s offering is worthwhile and life improving to many, who’s business is able to capitalise on the captive audience that the Nurture Centre has grown because of it’s diverse platform. The Nurture centre helps both to grow. It shouldn’t be a numbers game, a difference is a difference.
Nurture is a valuable resource for all the community, it needs to stay open.
The nurture centre is so important to so many people . It brings Carmarthenshire together as a community.
As the old debenhams store is going to be used as a social/ health hub. The council already know that town centres need more than shops.
For many the resources at the Nurture hub provide services which fill a void which social services and NHS don’t be have to provide/fund and I hope these hidden costs are factored into your decision.
Having a community space with a coffee shop is beneficial to so many people in the centre of town. Carmarthen needs to retain this sense of community as these days that’s why people come to town centres - shopping can be done online, so shops don’t necessarily draw people in anymore. It’s the places like Nurture centre that draw people in, which in turn means people browse and spend in shops - benefiting the local economy. We need to think differently about what people want from town centres - experiences, a sense of community and unique experiences that you cannot get online. Nurture centre can offer this and more.
Nurture centre has become a vital community hub. Providing real services for local people in a time of crisis. The service they offer are vital to community wellbeing, particularly families within carmarthenshire.
The Nurture Centre is an important part of the community in Carmarthen and it would be a big loss to see it go. It supports peoples physical and emotional wellbeing and enables families to thrive. Please consider supporting them to continue their important work.
A low cost option for meeting space both for businesses and the general public.
Please let it stay, it helps so many people.
Such an amazing resource. It deserves to stay, for the benefit of all who use it and the wider community.
I have post natal mental health problems, nurture centre has been a sanctuary, enabled me to access support, and has made the difference to me being able to go to town, as I know I have a safe space, somewhere to breastfeed and people who will help me.
We cannot move forward as a human race if everything is designed to take from us and make from us. Nurture actually gives back into people, and makes their lives better for it. In order to buy new things to make themselves look good, they need to feel good about themselves and feel worthy. Nurture does this part well.
😞 more businesses can rent space but it’s so expensive to rent from nurture that no one can use the brilliant space provided sadly.
Nurture offers so much to the community, and now more than ever, community is vital! A safe space, a great cafe and always a warm welcome.
It's such a beautiful place that supports families with children, all the way from newborn. The groups they hold are incredible and have helped me a lot through and after the pandemic. I think if nurture center was to go it would really effect my mental health.
The nurture center is a hub to our community from yoga to massage to courses it is a lifeline for many.
Nurture provides jobs for local people and spaces for local people to rent at a very fair price. It brings groups together to visit the town, provides a beautiful cafe space and generally enhances what the town has to offer to locals and visitors. it contributes to the wellbeing of lots of people, an absolutely vital service at this time post pandemic.
This facility enables the community to be in a safe space that provides invaluable well being programmes and promotes the whole being wellness as well as mental well being.
Amazing service, particularly useful when I was pregnant with my second child as I attended hypnobirthing sessions and learned techniques which enabled me to home birth.
Town centre spaces are about more than just the economy - though Nurture does have a beneficial effect in that people who come there will also spend in other businesses. Spaces for wellbeing, for building community spirit and resilience, for planning and for caring - these are the spaces that need fiercely protecting in the post-pandemic rebuild of our communities. Thank you.
It is a fantastic community space, if Nurture was taken away I think it would really have a negative impact on mental health and community wellbeing. These kind of spaces are needed now more than ever.
It’s beneficial to the town and to the people that visit Nurture it would be a great loss to Carmarthen if it was to close.
This is an incredibly valuable resource in particular in its services to women and families well above what the NHS and Social Services are able to offer.
To be able to go somewhere that is all about holistic wellbeing at a one of the most challenging times of our lives is just everything.
Nurture should remain.
It is a very important space for the community! Wellbeing is as important as any other aspect in local community. There is no other place like this around here!
The well-being generations (Wales) Act 2015 clearly states that well-being is one of their pillars for a healthier Wales. Why then would you evict a service that delivers low cost counselling, free food for those in financial poverty, well being groups to reduce social isolation, opportunities to develop entrepreneurial ideas in a supportive environment and the cafe which directly contributes to the local economy. What other business in Carmarthen provides all these opportunities under one roof?
Nurture had a very positive effect on my mental health when I needed it. A community space and group that helps build resilience and promotes wellbeing, something we all need post covid.
Such a valuble resource for new mothers, i really benefited from the breastfeeding group held there and would help combine a trip to go shop in advark for my weekly necessities after also along with getting out the house and pottering around other shops with a newborn!
It is a very welcoming and thoughtful place. They really care and try to help all sorts of people and children on sooooooo many levels. Before I was going to Nurture which is once a week, before I was going to Carmarthen about every 4 months, maybe. They really care about people and I feel that they contribute to wellbeing and greater connections which we lost a lot of due to Covid.
Please renew the lease with the same or better terms. It meets a need in it neutral nonreligious non biased way and serves good food. It also can be a centre of excellence with the right backing.
Because it helps so many people and there's nothing else like it. The leisure centre offers nowhere near the same amount or type of classes and that's also too far put of town. Not giving them another lease would be a huge loss to Carmarthen.
It WAS an empty building for a while. It is now a fantastic center for so many reasons. Through a huge amount of work, it now has its own cafe, hairdressers, the hall -which is used for classes, parties, community support groups, cooking food for people who are struggling in the community, and much more! I personally visit for wellbeing purposes. I have also used the hall for parties, popped in for coffee, recommended to friends for support and caught up with friends. As its in town, I always end up popping in for a spot of shopping too, as well as paying for parking! The nurture Centre MUST stay, I now feel it forms a vital part of the community, without question.
The people need somewhere like nuture, where you can access many different classes/courses, a hub for people in the community, somewhere people know they can go to find help and understanding, a welcoming space for mums and dads to feed their babies whilst in town etc. This centre is so much to so many and would be a huge loss to the community. Please renew the lease.
Nurture has been the hub of the community for a while now, it has improved my well being, confidence and social circle. Whenever meeting friends we always have lunch at nurture and then head out shopping, taking this option away would limit my time spent in town personally, as well as cut out a vital support network for many people. Having a hub ultimately brings the community together and hence boosts local businesses pockets!
I use essential services there, counselling and workshops with my family. We love sitting in the cafe, a safe friendly place to be and easy to access all the shops while parked in St. John’s carpark. Without nurture I would never use high street.
As a new mum, going to Nurture with my baby would give me the confidence to venture in to the town more. If it wasn’t there, I may not have been as willing to go out and about.
As it’s a vital community resource doing great things!
Mae’n ganolfan yn gyfleus iawn i’r maes parcio ac i’r dre lle rwyf yn amal yn cael bwyd yn y caffi ac yn cefnogi gweithgareddau sy’n cael eu cynnal gan y Menter Iaith gyda fy wyrion. Mae cael triniaeth ffisiotherapi gan Cam Cywir yn y ganolfan hefyd yn bwysig iawn i’r teulu a minnau.
The nurture should stay as it provides such important services to people of all walks of life. Its the only place I feel comfortable to just walk and and you always see a friendly face. It's the only place that provides a safe space for everybody and the classes are fantastic providing jobs for local people and the location is perfect for walking around carmarthen. The cafe is a much needed service as carmarthen doesn't have very many independent relaxing cafes anymore. Please don't close the nurture it is a lifeline for a lot of people.
The Summer tent was a great hit in our house & Sue the whippet enjoyed her treats.
There is absolutely nothing else like nurture in Carmarthen and it needs to stay.
The Nurture is a safe place for many people and is where you can access therapy, community groups and wellbeing courses to support your life. It is a place to come together and Carmarthen would become a ghost town without it.
Vital meeting place for community.
